The Sweet Briar Promise outlines our distinctive approach for providing meaningful, enduring education for women. It includes:

International Students

Sweet Briar is not able to offer need-based aid to non-U.S. citizens. A required piece of our application for admission is the International Student Financial Aid Application. Please make sure you complete this form and secure appropriate financing for college. Because our maximum merit scholarship is $15,000, non-U.S. citizens must demonstrate an ability to contribute at least $25,000 per year toward the cost of education or we will be unable to issue an I-20.

Once a student has been admitted to Sweet Briar by the Office of Admissions and has submitted her International Student Financial Aid Application, an I-20 form will be issued by the Office of International Studies. If you have further questions concerning the I-20 form, please contact:
